How to Prepare for Your Tattoo Appointment: A Complete Guide
Getting a new tattoo is an exciting experience, but being properly prepared can make all the difference in how smooth, comfortable, and successful your session is. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned collector, here's everything you need to know to get ready for your upcoming tattoo with me.
1. Booking & Deposits
I typically book appointments 2–4 weeks in advance. A $100 deposit is required at the time of booking to hold your spot. I offer two types of sessions:
Hourly rate: $150/hour for smaller tattoos
Half-day session – $500
Full-day session – $800
Your deposit goes toward the total cost of the tattoo and is non-refundable.
2. Before Your Appointment
A few simple steps can really set you up for a great experience:
Stay hydrated. Begin drinking extra water at least 3 days prior.
Avoid alcohol or heavy drinking for 3 days before your appointment.
Eat a good meal before you come. Tattoos can take a toll on your body, and being well-fed helps.
Pack snacks and water. This helps keep your energy stable during longer sessions.
3. What to Bring
A valid ID is required at every appointment, no exceptions.
Snacks and a water bottle are highly encouraged.
If it helps you stay comfortable, you can bring a clean blanket or pillow.
Wear loose, comfy clothing that you won’t mind getting ink on.
4. Guests & Studio Etiquette
To help maintain a calm and focused environment:
No more than one guest is allowed.
In most cases, it’s better to come solo for your comfort and focus.
No kids are allowed in the studio at any time.
5. Rescheduling & Cancellations
Life happens! Here’s what you need to know about changes:
You must give at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel.
Deposits are transferable only to the person who originally booked.
You can reschedule a maximum of two times before a new deposit is required.
Deposits are non-refundable, no exceptions.
6. Design Changes
You’ll have a chance to review your design on the day of your appointment.
Minor changes can absolutely be made during the appointment.
If a complete redraw is needed, we’ll need to reschedule for a different day.
7. Payment Methods
I accept:
Zelle
Venmo
Cash
Credit cards
