Meet Bryan: The Artist Behind the Apprentice

If you've been around Nushell Tattoos for a while, you've probably heard me mention my husband, Bryan. Now it's time for you to officially meet him.

Bryan has spent nearly two decades as a professional glassblower, creating functional pieces mixed with pop culture. If you've ever watched someone work with molten glass, you know it takes patience, precision, and an eye for detail.

The truth is, Bryan has always been an artist.

Art has always been a huge part of his life, and tattooing felt like a natural next step. Over the last several months, he's been dedicating himself to learning the craft from the ground up, putting in the hours, practicing constantly, and building a strong foundation that will carry him throughout his career.

Outside of tattooing, Bryan is exactly the kind of person you'd expect to tattoo beside me. He loves anime, Pokémon, retro video games, and all the nostalgic cartoons and pop culture that made the '90s so memorable. If you've ever wanted to spend an appointment talking about your favorite childhood shows, classic games, or collecting Pokémon cards, you'll probably find you have a lot in common.

As his style develops, Bryan is working toward creating bold, timeless tattoos inspired by American traditional while putting his own spin on the characters and imagery he loves most. Think classic tattooing meets nostalgic pop culture. Pokémon, anime, cartoons, and iconic characters reimagined with bold lines, solid color, and a traditional tattoo influence.

One of my favorite things about watching Bryan learn is seeing how much he genuinely cares. He isn't rushing the process or trying to skip ahead. He wants to build the skills the right way and create tattoos people can be proud to wear for decades.

Right now, he's still in his apprenticeship and is offering free tattoos while completing his first 50 tattoos on skin before moving into reduced apprentice pricing. It's an exciting stage in his journey, and every tattoo helps him grow into the artist he's working to become.

I'm incredibly proud of him,not just because he's my husband, but because I've watched the dedication he's poured into learning this craft. I can't wait to see where tattooing takes him, and I'm excited for all of you to be part of that journey too.
